Another fantastic book in the Kate Daniels series! You are really starting to understand Kate and the way her mind works. Learning about her history, childhood, and upbringing makes her more understandable and makes you fall in love with her even more.

As he passed me, he leaned to Curran and handed him a paper fan folded from some sort of flyer. Curran looked at the fan. “What?” “An emergency precaution, Your Majesty. In case the lady faints.” Curran just stared at him. Raphael strode toward the Pit, turned, flexed a bit, and winked at me. “Give me that,” I told Curran. “I need to fan myself.” “No, you don’t.”

Curran: Yesssss King! Or in this case, Lord! Love a strong man both emotionally and physically.
Derek: Whyyyyy?!?!?!
Julie: Hello mini-Kate. Here for it. Love her and can’t wait to see how she continues to grow.
Saiman: Props for the courage and willingness to do what he needs to do.
